AP exams do not deduct points for incorrect answers. Answer every single question, even if you have to guess.
Cross out obviously wrong choices. Your odds jump from 20% to 33% or 50% instantly.
Answers with words like "always," "never," or "only" are often wrong. Look for nuanced language.
Mark questions you're unsure about and circle back if you have time. Don't let one question steal five minutes.
Cross out choices, underline key numbers, and draw diagrams directly in the test booklet. It helps you think.
Your first instinct is usually right. Only change an answer if you find clear evidence you made a mistake.
Practice every function you'll need: derivatives, integrals, roots, logs, and graphing. Don't learn on exam day.
Make sure you're in radian mode for calculus and physics. A single mode error can cost multiple questions.
Use the storage function to save intermediate results. It reduces transcription errors and saves time.
If a question asks about roots, maxima, or intersections, graph the function to confirm your algebraic answer.
Replace batteries the night before. Bring a backup calculator if your school allows it.
Only College Board-approved calculators are permitted. Casio FX-9750, TI-84, and TI-Nspire are safe choices.
